Well this hasn't happened in a while...

I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed staying home with my children and have been so blessed that they are part of my life.  I have so much to learn from them and appreciate their trust in Jon and me.  Life is simple for them and they are full of joy!

As I am transitioning to move to China and working full time again, my mind is filled with so many thoughts and things to do.  For the first time in years, I am awake at 4:30 and cannot sleep.  My mind is racing with lists of things to do!  I know things will settle once we move and get on a routine.  For now, I am in overdrive.  That is a good thing, because we really do have many things to accomplish in a short amount of time. However, I miss simply being able to sleep and rest and know that the day will be filled with reading, play, and just being with the kids.

We have been so blessed by the help of family and friends!  Thank you all so much for your time and help!  We will move out of our house the 28th (Saturday) and stay with friends and family until we leave very early on the 3rd.  Really, the 2nd is our last day here.  We will rent a U-haul Saturday to move the remainder of our things to storage.

Please pray for my kids.  I am noticing that MT is particularly having a difficult time.  I have always been her security blanket and I really have had loads of undivided time with them.  She is having a hard time with the busyness and me having other things to do.  I think it will help when she starts school.  Because my kids have had so much transition in life, it is hard for them.  Please pray for both of them and for us to have enough break times with them to help them feel secure and loved!

Thanks so much to all of our family and friends.  We are blessed!

Saying goodbye is hard to do...

Well, we are getting closer and closer to takeoff.  I have to say that we have the most amazing family and friends in the world!  I cannot let myself think about it much, but I will truly miss everyone.  We met my brother and his family today in Inman at my parents' house to say goodbye.  They are an awesome family and my kids LOVE them so much!  We had a great day visiting followed by a wonderful meal at Wade's.  Only those from Spartanburg know about Wade's, but it is so yummy!

Now, we are all exhausted and ready for some shut eye!  I am adding some pics of our house and also our family.  Fun was had by all...

where is our blog?

Well, we are now entering the 21st century with our blog.  The first obstacle has been overcome: we have remembered how to log in to the blog we started a month ago.

Today has truly been a day of rest for us.  We spent the morning at the lake swimming and just chillin.  It has been nice to spend the day as a family and take a break from the packing and to-do lists that loom before us.

It still hits me sometimes that we are moving to China!  Yes, for those of you who know us... we really are moving this time.  Not like our 5 weeks in CA or maybe Boston or a trip to Madagascar...

While putting Daniel to bed, he asked why IKEA had to be in China.  We told him weeks prior that we we get to China, we will go shopping at IKEA for things for our apartment as well as toys and things for the kids' rooms.  Daniel is fixated on the fact that he will be getting a toy of some sort, and wonders why we haven't picked it out yet.

26 days till liftoff!
